Junior border guard Valeriy Rezun, a serviceman of the 25th Border Guard Detachment, detained two students of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute who were traveling from Izmail to Kyiv for studies in Odesa region.

According to her, the incident occurred at 22:31 at the Palanka-Mayaky-Udobne checkpoint in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. She emphasized that the students are entitled to a deferral from mobilization and were on their way to obtain the relevant up-to-date certificate, which requires personal presence. Without this certificate, students cannot get a deferment.
The girl also noted that the inspector spoke Russian while performing his duties and did not pay attention to the fact that their data in the Reserve+ system was updated on time, and that both boys had student IDs and valid military registration certificates.
Intent asked the State Border Guard Service for comment, but they have not yet commented on the incident.
